Because of the firm’s exposure to the medical malpractice defense area, it has developed the ancillary practice and experience in other matters of healthcare law. This includes providing assistance to hospitals and medical staffs in issues of peer review, credentialing, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory compliance. It has been involved in defending healthcare providers in claims of EMTALA, as well as other allegations of regulatory non-compliance. The firm is frequently called upon to participate in teaching roles related to these and other issues arising in the medical community.
