In the Circuit Court of Jefferson County, Alabama Jay Juliano and Deborah Ann Wakefield won a jury trial in an action brought against a major tertiary care hospital under the Alabama Medical Liability and Alabama Wrongful Death Acts.  The plaintiff’s claim was that the decedent died as a result of receiving excessive pain medication and inadequate nursing monitoring following the admission of the medication.  At the close of plaintiff’s evidence the Court granted motion for judgment filed by Parsons, Lee & Juliano in favor of the hospital.  Plaintiff appealed the defense judgment to the Alabama Supreme Court.  The Alabama Supreme Court affirmed PLJ’s victory at trial.
