
Mark Lee graduated with honors from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Alabama in 1974 and a J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law in 1977. Mr. Lee is a member of the American Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Defense Research Institute (DRI), and the American Academy of Hospital Attorneys. In 1985, he was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates, which requires for membership its inductees to have tried at least 50 jury trials as lead counsel. At the time of his induction, he was the youngest member ever inducted into ABOTA.
As a frequently invited speaker, Mr. Lee lectures on legal and medical issues to physicians, nurses, attorneys, and risk managers. He has written a number of articles concerning the areas of specialization in which he practices.
Mr. Lee represents hospitals, physicians, nurses, and medical staffs throughout the state of Alabama. His interest in healthcare litigation has resulted in the development of a sub-speciality in the field of medical staff credentialing and peer review. His practice also includes representation of the insurance industry, manufacturers of products, and general personal injury litigation.
From a personal perspective, Mr. Lee’s greatest accomplishment ocurred in 1975 when he used his powers of pursasion to convince the former Emily Corr of Birmingham to become his wife. They are the proud parents of two wonderful children, Reverend Murray Lee and Mrs. Wellon Bridgers. His hobbies include grandfathering, gardening, sports, and cooking. He and Emily are charter members of Covenant Presbyterian Church where he serves as elder and teacher.
Mr. Lee has been awarded an “AV” peer review rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He was named as one of the top healthcare lawyers as well as being recognized by Thompson Reuters Super Lawyers.
