Alex Wyatt is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and Spring Hill College. Following his law degree, Mr. Wyatt served as Law Clerk to Justice Gorman Houston of the Alabama Supreme Court. He is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, Defense Research Institute and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. He has been awarded an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell. Since 2007, Alex has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law, and he was named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers beginning in 2011. He has also been named one of Alabama’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators by America’s Top 100 and an Attorney to Watch by Attorney at Law Magazine. Alex was also chosen to serve on the Right to Publicity committee of the Alabama Law Institute, which drafted Alabama’s first Right to Publicity statute.
Alex splits his time between litigation and serving as a mediator. In his litigation practice, he focuses on product liability, medical malpractice, healthcare, toxic tort / environmental, and insurance defense litigation. He regularly represents a wide array of clients ranging from hospitals to automobile manufacturers. As a mediator, Alex serves as a neutral in all types of disputes and assists the parties in facilitating a resolution. He has been a certified mediatory by the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution since 2006. Alex has also served as a past Coordinator for the Jefferson County District Court Mediation Program, and has received an additional certification from the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution to handle mediations with the Alabama Mortgage Mediation Program.
In addition to his law practice, Alex serves on the Homewood City Council. In that position, he serves on the Planning and Development, Public Works and Public Safety committees, and is the City liaison to both the Homewood Chamber of Commerce and Samford University. Alex also sits on the Board of Directors of the Homewood Athletic Foundation and previously served on the boards of directors of both the Homewood City Schools Foundation and the Safe and Healthy Homewood Coalition.
Alex is married to Megan Wyatt, and together they have a daughter, Riordan, and a son Ander.
