David Lee and Miles Gresham begin 2009 with a defense verdict in Lee County, AL. The plaintiff sued a local tavern in Lee County under the Alabama Dram Shop laws for allegedly over serving alcoholic beverages to a number of Saturday night customers that resulted in a major bar room brawl. The plaintiff claimed that he was an innocent bystander and was struck in the face by a customer with a pool ball that caused multiple facial and jaw fractures, and permanent partial paralysis on the left side of his face. The plaintiff also claimed that the owners of the tavern negligently failed to provide adequate security at the bar which had been the scene of a number of prior fights and altercations. David and Miles convinced the jury that the bar employees did not violate the Alabama Dram Shop laws and their client provided reasonable & adequate security at the bar. The jury disagreed with the plaintiff's claims and returned a unanimous defense verdict for David and Miles' client.
