Robert Parsons and David Lee win appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court

On August 14, 2009, the Alabama Supreme Court affirmed a summary judgment Robert and David obtained for their client in Jefferson County. The plaintiff claimed the defendant service station improperly sold gasoline to a mentally disturbed person who self-pumped a small amount of gasoline into a Ruby Red plastic juice bottle. The customer walked home and caused a domestic disturbance. When a sheriff deputy attempted to place the customer under arrest, the customer doused the deputy with gasoline and ignited it causing serious third degree burns to the deputy's upper body and face. Robert and David convinced the trial court that their client was not legally responsible for the customer's criminal conduct and the Alabama Supreme Court agreed.
