Directions from the Birmingham International Airport
-
After leaving the airport, drive 1.2 miles and get on
I-20/59 West/South (Tuscaloosa/Downtown).
-
Go 3 miles to Exit 126A (U.S. Highway 31/280 Carraway Boulevard).
Stay in the left lane of the exit ramp.

Continue on U.S. Highway 31 South/280 East for 3.2 miles. Exit
at the East/Sylacauga/Mountain Brook exit. Stay in the left lane of the exit
ramp.

On U.S. 280, take the Highway 149/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
-
Turn right onto Highway 149.
-
Turn left at the first light, in front of the Shades Creek
Park building.

Continue straight to the stop sign and turn right to go to
the parking area.

From West of Birmingham (including Tuscaloosa)

Take I-20 East to the I-459 North exit (Atlanta/Gadsden).

Follow I-459 North approximately 20 miles to U.S. Highway 280, Exit 19 (Mountain
Brook/Childersburg/U.S. 280 West).

At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto U.S. Highway 280 West.

Take the Highway 149/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
-
Continue straight through the intersection in front of the Shades Creek Park
building.

Continue straight to the stop sign and turn right to go to the parking area.

From South of Birmingham (including Montgomery)

Take I-65 North to Exit 250 (I-459 North/Atlanta/Gadsden/to
U.S. 280).

Go 4.4 miles and take Exit 19 (Mountain Brook/Childersburg/U.S. 280 West).

At the end of the ramp, turn left onto U.S. Highway 280 West.

Take Highway 149/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.
-
Continue straight through the intersection in front of the Shades Creek Park
building.

Continue straight to the stop sign and turn right to go to the parking area.

Take I-65 South to Exit 261 (I-20 East/I-59 North Gadsden/Atlanta).

Go to 1.1 miles and take Exit 126A (U.S. Highway 31/280 Carraway Boulevard). Stay
in the left lane of the exit ramp.

Continue on U.S. Highway 31 South/280 East for 3.2 miles. Exit at the
East/Sylacauga/Mountain Brook exit. Stay in the left lane of the exit ramp.

On U.S. 280, take the Highway 149/Mountain Brook/Homewood exit.

Turn right onto Highway 149.

Alternate Route From North of Birmingham (Lakeshore Drive)

Take I-65 South past the I-20/59 interchange and continue 5.4 miles.

Take Exit 255 (Lakeshore Drive). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto
Lakeshore Drive (AL 149).

Drive 3.6 miles on Lakeshore (AL 149). You will go through 10 traffic
lights.

Turn left at the 11th light, in front of the Shades Creek Park Building.

Continue straight to the stop sign and turn right to go to the parking area. View a

From East of Birmingham (including Atlanta) -
Take I-20 West out of Atlanta to Birmingham.

Exit onto I-459 South (Montgomery).

Take Exit 19 onto U.S. Highway 280 West (Mountain Brook/Childersburg/U.S. 280 West).
